A Little About Us
The Tree House Project
Tree House Project, Inc.
Our mission is to connect at-risk youth to vital resources needed for a fundamental transition into adulthood. We do this by assisting participants to strategically plan and achieve individual goals.
THP is designed for female youth 6th – 12th grade.
Tree House Project, Inc. has been mentoring youth since 2008. THP started in the Druid Heights & Sandtown-Winchester neighborhoods in West Baltimore. On average we serve 100 youth each year. As we grow we hope to serve a greater population and provide housing services.
We reach young people by providing monthly engagement activities to registered members, hosting workshops for various youth groups and providing volunteer opportunities. Our focus areas include Work Force Preparedness & Entrepreneurship, Domestic Violence & Healthy Relationship Awareness, Goal Planning, Life Skills, Sex Education and Behavioral Health Education.

What we do
Our Services
Workforce Preparedness / Entrepreneurship
Youth participate in an intensive enlightening and planning session led by guest speakers who are excelling in their careers. THP hosts special guests from local celebrities, professionals and small business owners. Our guests speak with young people about their plans for the future and provide insight and guidance on what it will take to reach their career goals. All youth receive a resume, list of references and certificate of completion.
Domestic Violence & Healthy Relationship
Each February THP participates in Domestic Violence Awareness month by hosting our Annual Valentine’s Day DV & HR Awareness Session. Participants engage in a peer run group where they discuss the importance of healthy relationships with family, friends and partners. Youth also identify the signs of unhealthy relationships, resources for those in need and strategies to seek help. We invite speakers, provide dinner and give gifts.
Goal Planning & Life Skills
THP believes in the concept of “Person-Centered Planning”. In this #Project youth engage in activities that will allow them to discover self, increase self-esteem, identify their support system, and identify goals along with strategies to achieve them. All participants receive a journal and certificate of completion.
Sex Education – Reproductive Health & Sexual Decision Making
Project Sex-Ed is hosted twice each year. THP brings in the leaders in sex-education to provide the most up to date information on reproductive health, STD Awareness and information on how to get connected to resources. We have worked with Total Health Care, Pretty & Pristine and Chase Brexton.
Behavioral Health Education
Behavioral Health is infused in all programming hosted by THP. It is our duty to engages young people in the importance of mental health. Self-care and Mental Health Awareness can make a major difference in
the lives of our participants. The ability to have a great peer or clinical support system can drive our young people in achieving wellness and personal goals. THP provides referrals for consenting youth and parents who are in need of a connection for mental health services.
